The Memory of the World Nomination Casebook brings together the experiences of custodians from around the world (including Aotearoa New Zealand) who have successfully navigated the nomination process for the Memory of the World International Register. It shares the motivations, strategies, challenges, and lessons they encountered, offering practical guidance and collective wisdom for future nominators.

The Casebook is available on the UNESCO authorised International Centre for Documentary Heritage website and can be downloaded as a PDF or ePUB. It features the experience of our Chair Sean McMahon’s nomination for the Alexander Turnbull Library’s Katherine Mansfield literary and personal papers and belongings.
