Kerikeri Mission Te Reo Slates

2018

An outstanding and rare example of te reo Māori, the Kerikeri Mission Te Reo slates represent the development of early Māori literacy.

The Kerikeri Mission Te Reo Slates were found at Kemp House, Kerikeri, in 2000, when the floorboards were lifted for restoration works and are the only known slates with te reo Māori writing from this era on them.
