Whanganui inscription event

Whanganui Regional Museum and Alexander Heritage and Research Library, Whanganui, hosted an event on Friday, 11 October.

It recognised their successful joint inscription with the Alexander Turnbull Library of the William James Harding Collection, a comprehensive photographic record of Whanganui and Rangitikei communities in the last half of the nineteenth century.

UNESCO Memory of the World was pleased to include a presentation by Emma Bugden of UNESCO Whanganui City of Design. Whanganui Regional Museum hosts an exhibition of design from Whanganui’s community over the last 800 years. It includes carving and weaving, silverware, clothing, furniture, pottery and of course photography.
